With a current membership strength of 49, the Rotary Club of Siliguri was chartered in the year 1968 under the Presidentship of Rtn. RN Agarwal. Since its charter it has been engaged in various social activities. In the year 2001 it inaugurated its signature project the Paul P. Harris Siliguri Rotary Blood Bank, the first NGO in North Bengal to have a blood bank under its banner. Since then the blood bank is serving the community 24*7 and is presently issuing 12000+ units of blood every year. The club has given 3 district Governors to Dist. 3240 and is a strong supporter of the Rotary Foundation being the first 100% PHF club in the region. During the covid - 19 crisis Rotary Club of Siliguri conducted an Oxygen Concentrator service under the project name ‘Breathe’. Further it was amongst the only 2 covid vaccine providers under private banner and successfully vaccinated 5500+ people with dose 1 & 2 respectively/ Currently under an MOU with Lions eye hospital Rotary Club is conducting free eye screening as well as cataract surgeries for the under privileged sections of the society.
